Before CAre for Microblading

Before Care:

Prior to receiving a service at Blush & Ink Beauty, please familiarize yourself with our policies. You should not receive a cosmetic tattoo for a minimum of 2 weeks after receiving Botox treatments, and for 4 weeks after using retinols, AHAs, etc. Do not consume alcohol, caffeine, blood thinners, or pain killers for 48 hours before your appointment as this will impact the ability for pigment to deposit into your skin. We cannot tattoo over tanned or sunburnt skin, so please schedule your appointment accordingly around trips and vacations. Also, please familiarize yourself with the After Care Instructions as well to plan your appointment accordingly to not conflict (i.e. out of sun for 4 weeks post treatment and out of natural bodies of water for 4 weeks).

After Care for Microblading

After Care:

  1. Please keep in mind that the healing process is extremely important and necessary. About 70% of the outcome depends on how well you take care of them. The first 10 - 14 days are the most important as you currently have open wounds on your eyebrows. Be prepared for your brows to appear very dark in the next few days and will begin to scab over as well. DON’T FREAK OUT!  It is completely normal and you may even like how dark they are! There was a liquid bandage that was applied to your brows,  which will help keep them clean and safe. (This is not to be washed off). The A&D Ointment that was given to you will start being applied on the 5th day (only if you are a normal to dry skin type, do not apply if you have oily skin) after your procedure.  LIGHTLY apply this ointment once a day for 2 days (5th-6th, depending on how dry or oily your natural skin is) and be sure that it is applied very lightly with q-tip.  As your brows scab over, they will also flake off on their own and you will be able to see the strokes that were placed underneath! Keep in mind that not ALL strokes will stick perfectly. That’s okay! This is what will be taken care of during your touch up. It takes about 3 weeks for your brows to completely heal so please be patient!
  2. NO SUN! ( avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for 4 weeks. 10 min in the sun can change the color of your brows! Feel free to wear hats that are clean and away from the brow area or oversized sunglasses. )
  3. NO ITCHING/PICKING/TOUCHING! (They will be itchy, BE STRONG, it’s worth it! Only touch if hands are clean)
  4. DON’T GET THEM WET! ( This will wash out the color! Cover them while taking cool, quick showers and let the water run off your back. Ring out a washcloth to wash around your eyebrows when washing face. Avoid hot tubs, pools, natural bodies of water for 2 weeks)
  5. AVOID HEAVY SWEATING! ( take it easy in the gym for 10-14 days! Also, keep in mind gyms can be dirty so definitely avoid touching your face too)
  6. TRY TO SLEEP ON YOUR BACK! ( Wash your pillowcase and also lay a clean towel down. You don’t want your brows to get all over your pillow as they heal! )
  7. AVOID MAKEUP ON AND AROUND THE BROW AREA! (for 2 weeks keep the brows clean from makeup and brushes. Before using makeup again, be sure to clean your brushes/makeup.)
  8. NO ACTIVE INGREDIENT SKINCARE OR PETROLEUM BASED PRODUCTS (i.e. neosporin, vaseline, anti-acne, anti-aging products, retinols, AHA’s chemical peels, lasers or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks)
  9. NO BROW WAXING, TWEEZING, THREADING OR TINTING (4 weeks following)
  10. KEEP HAIR AND BANGS OUT OF BROW AREA (about a week following)
  11. INFORM MEDICAL TECHNICIANS THAT YOU’VE HAD MICROBLADING PERFORMED IF UNDERGOING MRI SCANS
